What We Do
Art To Be Seen funds and elevates LGBTQ+ artists, building a lasting record of queer creativity across America --because art isn't finished until it's seen.
The Artist Fund
We are building a commissioning fund for LGBTQ+ artists in small towns. Artists will be paid up front and keep full creative control, and each artist will agree in writing on where the work lives after it's made.
The Community Hub
We're building a roster of LGBTQ+ artists in all fifty states. Artists get connected to each other and to the professional development that usually stays in big cities. It starts local. It grows national.
Exhibitions
Every exhibition opens where the artist lives. Local libraries, community centers, civic spaces — then the collection travels to Washington, D.C. Each show is paired with artist talks and public programs, so the community sees the art and hears the story behind it.
Stories Come Home
When a piece is finished, it goes back to the community it came from. It's shown there first, with the artist present, before it joins the national collection. Art doesn't make an argument. It makes you feel something.
